“Well done, Letty, you’re amazing.” I ran my fingers over Letty’s feathers again, thanking her for this difficult journey.

I put the note in my locker and focused on the next bundle of letters. I ran my fingers over the brown lace, then took the first letter in my hands, my gaze comparing. They all had the same address on them, which seemed to mean something to me inside, but what? I put the other letters in the cupboard, leaned back on a single, soft pillow under my back, and eagerly opened the first letter. A large yellowed sheet filled with fine handwriting. The first words written neatly at the top of the page made my heart skip a beat.
